Trot Nixon

Trot Nixon was born in Durham, North Carolina, on April 11, 1974. He attended New Hanover High School. In 1993, Nixon was selected by the Boston Red Sox with the seventh pick in the Major League Baseball amateur draft.

On September 21, 1996, Nixon made his MLB debut with the Boston Red Sox. In 2003, Nixon recorded one of his best seasons and finished with a .306 batting average, 28 home runs and 87 runs batted in. The following season he played a key role in the Red Sox' historic World Series victory. In 2007, Nixon signed with the Cleveland Indians as a free agent.
