Tim Hyers

Playing Experience:
Tim played ten professional seasons after being selected by the Toronto Blue Jays in the 2nd round of the 1990 Major League Baseball Draft. His major league debut occurred on April 4, 1994, against the Atlanta Braves, while playing for the San Diego Padres. Tim went on to log major league time with the San Diego Padres (1994-95), Detroit Tigers (1996) and Florida Marlins (1999), finishing with an impressive career fielding average of .990. Also an All-Star at the Double-A level, Tim finished second in the running for the Southern League Batting Title. He had the opportunity to play with the likes of Tony Gwynn, Steve Finley, Carlos Delgado and Shawn Green.

Coaching Experience:
In 2002, Tim had the opportunity to coach professionally for the Single-A Detroit Tigers. He served as the hitting instructor for the Tigers who won the regular season championship. Tim's philosophy of coaching was influenced while playing for Terry Francona, Merv Rettmund and Bill Buckner. Since the 2002 season Tim has been the owner and operator of Hyers Sports Training in the Atlanta area.

Philosophy:
My goal is to focus on the positives to promote the athletes natural abilities. I believe each student possesses their own special gifts and talents. An instructor's job is to implement the right fundamentals for each individual, that will help them play to the very best of their abilities.
